Dear Students,
We are looking for volunteers and paid positions to help with a new program to make Shaolin Tai Chi, Qigong, and Stretch therapy affordable and accessible to seniors.
This new program will offer these Shaolin classes during the weekdays from 1pm to 4pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Compensation is up to $30 per hour, and you may also volunteer or partially volunteer.
If you would like to join our team, please fill out the application form below.
The deadline to apply is Sunday, July 5, 2026. This will give us time to submit the proposal. Thereafter, we will still accept applicants for additional volunteer roles (or paid roles if still available).
Thank you!
The Shaolin Team Canada Seniors Health Drive provides much-needed support for seniors' mental and physical health, including Vulnerable seniors, such as women and those with low income over 55 years of age.
This project will provide affordable weekly classes at our downtown Toronto school for 42 weeks (3 terms) over the course of one year, starting September 2026. Classes offered are Tai Chi, Qigong, and Stretch Therapy. They are highly suitable for seniors and will be provided by qualified instructors. It is a bonus if you are over 50 years of age!
We are applying for a Canadian grant of $50K to make this project possible. In total we need $90K. The remaining funds will come from Shaolin Luohan Temple, STQI Downtown Toronto School donations, and personal donations.
If you would like to personally donate to this cause, you can mention it in the online form!
Let's work together to introduce this new unique and interesting program and greatly benefit seniors!
The following roles are available. We will give preference to seniors (55+, followed by 50+, then 40+), as this will also greatly increase the chances of getting funding.
You can apply as a volunteer or request a salary (or partial salary) of up to $30 per hour:
